3M Replacement Filters  Replacement filters for all 3M Filtrete Air Purifiers When running a Filtrete air purifier you will get the best results if it is on all the time. The filters on the Filtrete units should be replaced every 3 - 6 months. The Ultra Slim has a filter change indicator to alert you to when the filter needs changing.
How the electrostatic filter works
As the air passes through the electrostatic air filter it produces friction that creates a natural electrostatic charge between the polypropylene and the layers of bonded polyester fibres. The electrostatic charge attracts minute household dust and other particles to the electrostatic filters like a magnet. An electrostatic filter is effective at capturing particles down to 0.1 micron. The 3M electrostatic filters are completely ozone free. The Filtrete air purifiers by 3M use an electrostatic filter that has a 30% higher clean air delivery rate than a similar sized HEPA filter. They use patented filter technology which allows for more air to pass through the purifier, thus removing more of the particles from your air*. Most permanent and washable filters quickly loose their electrostatic properties through washing and clogging. Filtrete uses replaceable electrostatic filters to deliver the enhanced filtration of an electrostatic filter on a sustained basis.
