These gloves have an elasticated ring ensuring they fit snugly. They can help reduce itching and scratching and are also useful in the prevention of contact eczema. This can be aggravated by external irritants commonly found in the home or in the catering, cleaning, engineering or healthcare industries. The gloves are designed to be worn on their own or underneath work gloves. 54% silk and 46% Coolmax.

Further Information
Coolmax is a fabric made from 100% spun polyester which is used in many athletic garments and is designed to wick moisture away from the skin. The early versions of DermaSilk gloves were made from 100% DermaSilk but they did not last very long under everyday conditions. Coolmax was added as an outer layer on the gloves to improve their structural robustness. No Coolmax touches the skin as the knit keeps it on the outside so that the wearer only comes into direct contact with the DermaSilk.

These gloves are 45% silk and 55% polyamide, NOT pure silk (although the tubular sleeves are 98% silk). They are close fitting, so ideal for use during the daytime when working. Note that they cannot be used with ointments: the skin has to be dry before wearing the gloves. Creams can be applied beforehand, but they have to be allowed to dry in first.
